For the development and course of a disease physical, psychological and social factors play an important role. For a holistic treatment a psychological diagnosis and treatment are therefore crucially important.
Since February 1998 the department of clinical psychology is part of the general hospital Wolfsberg and is used in connection with the treatment of:
- physical diseases
- physical diseases without organic causes
- analysis of appearance and maintenance of any kind of pain
- diseases for the treatment of which the cooperation of the patient is particularly important
- mental problems and diseases
Moreover emergency psychological measures after an accident or traumatising experiences are tasks of the team. The clinical psychologists cooperate closely with all departments and professional categories of the hospital.
