Casualty Surgery Department

Each year over 32,000 injured patients are treated, with 5300 being admitted to the hospital. This makes the Casualty Surgery Department in Villach the largest in Carinthia.

In the department, with its state-of-the-art technology, more than 10,500 operations are carried out with great dedication around-the-clock. The entire spectrum of modern and classical casualty surgery, such as osteosynthesis, arthroscopy, endoprosthesis, surgery of the spine, surgery of the hip and minimal-invasive surgery, are offered by an outstanding team of highly trained specialists.

A specialized outpatients’ ambulatory for shoulder injuries and disorders is open every Tuesday between 7:30am and 12:00pm. For patients with hand injuries and disorders, a specialized outpatients’ ambulatorum for hand surgery is open every Thursday between 7:30am and 12:00pm.

Close collaboration with the anesthetic and intensive care departments allows treatment of even the most serious injuries. Cooperation with the other departments in the hospital, with their state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities, guarantees comprehensive traumatological diagnosis and treatment.
