Central X-Ray Institute |
Each year about 100,000 examinations are carried out day and night. The institute covers all specialized fields of diagnostics and offers all conventional X-ray examinations such as transillumination, skeletal and vascular examinations and cardio-pulmonary diagnosis with digital recording technology.
The staff of the Central X-Ray Institute use state-of-the-art medical technology and guarantee their patients outstanding, compassionate support. The doctors and their highly qualified colleagues work around-the-clock to ensure rapid and reliable diagnoses.
Information from the department:
Who has never suffered from backache? And what haven’t we tried – from gymnastics, to medication, to operations – just to be free of pain! Chronic pain of the spine that can be caused by slipped disks, curvature of the vertebral disk or also attrition of the small vertebral joints, can be treated in the Central X-Ray Institute of the Villach Regional Hospital by means of CT-targeted nerve root blocks. At the institute, about 6000 breast examinations are carried out by experienced specialists each year. Even with the best technical picture quality and a trained radiological eye, there is a percentage rate of changes in the breast that require further histological investigation. Using state-of-the-art digital imaging, the targeted tissue biopsy is so safe and harmless that, if benign, patients can be spared an operation.
Many operations of the stomach or chest area can be avoided by use of computed tomography. For instance, abscesses of inner organs can be treated without having the patient anesthetized. Operations can also be avoided in the case of vascular closure and vascular constriction by using state-of-the-art imaging methods, highly developed technical instruments and the calm and trained hand of the radiologist.
